we use prepared doors with locks, hinges and etc. I thought USA is advanced country, but we are more advanced this way ! Now i understand why your houses crumble if anything happens 
@kevincw01 You can use curved/curved tipped chisels they work just right
You only need a truck full of tools and some brains
he chisels a square for the door hinge but uses curved corner hinges. I did this before and it looks bad. i don’t think you can chisel a curved corner so you probably need a router.
